Sleeping Arrangements

Comfy?

This years camp banner

For the past three years I've been able to make the camp banner for our ward's Young Women.  This year it's an olympics theme and our ward's been assigned to represent Argentina.  The banner has a lot going on, but I think it turned out really fun.  The pink building is Argentina's capital, La Casa Rosada.  The athletes are supposed to represent "run faster," "jump higher," and "be stronger."  And then there's part of the Argentina flag at the bottom.
Our Young Women helped paint a lot of it, and then I did a little, and Keith finished it up (what a trooper).

Namesake

My grandparents were here last weekend.  I always think they are so brave when they come down here during the summer and bear the heat.  I think it's great that Grant still has 2 sets of great-grandparents alive.  I love when he gets to be with them.  Grant shares the same birthday as my grandpa, and my grandpa's first name is Grant's middle name.  I'm glad they were able to bond for a little while during their visit.

A Weekend Together

We took Grant to see Cars 2 over 4th of July Weekend.  It was his very first movie in a theatre.  He was totally captivated throughout the whole movie.  It was so fun to watch his face and see his reactions to the show.  Afterward he got soaked in the splash pad outside.
Then we went up to the cabin for 2 days.  Oh the cool weather!  It was so nice.  And it rained a little each day.  I didn't want to leave.  I took lots of deep breaths of the fresh air before I came back.
Grant loves it at the cabin.  There's so many fun new things for him to do there.  He was obsessed with the box of cars this time, and of course a little train.  He had them with him all the time.  On the 4th of July "the guys" woke up early (I don't get that...it's vacation...why get up early?????) and went golfing in Snowflake.  We girls met up with them on the 13th hole.  Grant was loving it!  He brought his little golf clubs and was able to hit some great hits out there with his dad.
It was a great weekend with lots of family time together.

swim lessons are done

Grant took swimming lessons in June.  He got to be there with two of his cousins.  He liked it a lot, even though he often got distracted by other things going on at the pool.  As long as his teacher was keeping him busy with new things we were able to keep his attention.  I think next year he will need a more serious class so that he'll be more serious about it.  But this was a great class for his first year of lessons and his teacher was really nice.  It was so nice to count on being at the pool at least twice a week.  What a great way to cool off!  Keith was able to come for the last lesson.  Grant really liked showing off his skills for his dad.  His favorite thing to do is to climb out of the pool and then jump back in.  He also really liked the toys that his teacher would bring.
