The Baby's Room

Okay, here's the baby's room (previously our office).  I don't have a fancy schmancy camera so the lighting in these pictures is not the best, but it's not terrible.  We are thinking about getting a new camera before the baby is born.  Nothing super fancy, because I really don't think I'd take the time to learn how to use it.  But our camera is not performing as well as it used to.  Maybe being jostled around in a golf bag for a month didn't help?  Hmmmmm....  Do you have a nice camera, that isn't super fancy, that you like?  I need suggestions.

On with the pictures!

Window valance idea from here.

Inspiration for how to make this simple bed skirt came from here.
It was so easy.  And it's just put on with Velcro.  Genius!

Inside that big empty blue frame will be the first letter of whatever name we choose for our little bambino.
I'm just going to paint it on a big piece of art paper.

I love my diaper bag.  I searched high and low online for this baby.  For some reason it was sold out  everywhere except here.  Now it's back in stock in lots of other places for a little bit cheaper, but whatever.  I have it.  It's packed.  And I like it a lot.  I was a little nervous about ordering it online, but it had great reviews.  It turned out to be just what I was looking for.  Hooray!
I didn't clean the refrigerator today after all.  Cleaning the freezer last night took it all out of me.  I did, however, make homemade bread.  We ate about half a loaf while it was still warm.  Yum!

We've been work'n hard around here

I love it when Grant helps Keith do his pushups.  :)
14 days left 'till my due date!  My doctor doesn't think I'll make it 'til then.  I agree!  But, we will see.  Tonight I deep cleaned my freezer.  I even labeled it when I was done!  If that doesn't send me into labor tonight, then I'll just have to deep clean the refrigerator tomorrow. :)
I'll keep you posted!

A little weekend get together

I went to a fun lunch on Saturday to celebrate the arrival of our baby.  It was just sisters, moms, and of course my BFF.  We really didn't NEED anything new for this little guy, but it was way fun to get some extra fun things just for him.  And it was really nice to be with these ladies and eat really yummy food.  I had a big plate full of crepes with whipping cream and berries on top.  I have to stop thinking about those!  They were so good!
Here's a few pictures.  I must point out the adorable little diaper cake in the middle of the gifts on the table, my super cute nephew eating cake, and look at that beautiful blanket that Keith's mom made (hanging behind me), and the fun Curious George puppet book, and the matching ties that Aunt Jenny made for our boys.  There was more, but we didn't get it all in pictures.  Everyone was so thoughtful.  This is one lucky little boy that's coming (hopefully soon!).  Even Grant got a little gift so he wouldn't feel left out.  He got a Finn McMissile car (from the Cars 2 movie).  He was so excited and loves to play with it.

After lunch I went to run errands with my mom for the rest of the day.  It was fun to go around with her and check off the list of things that I needed to do before this baby comes.  Then I topped off the night with going to get a much needed pedicure with Keith's sister Kristy.
It was a good day.  I needed a day away from the daily routine & this day was just the ticket.  I think I changed 1 diaper all day!

36 1/2 Weeks & a sneak peak of the baby's room

Yep, 36 1/2 weeks.  And we still haven't settled on a name for this baby boy.  We went through names this afternoon.  We keep thinking we'll have to wait to see what he looks like.  Maybe one will sound definite in the next week or so.

Meanwhile, this boy is keeping us entertained and busy.  He's the little boy at church that walks a little bit away from where we are sitting and then gives us a mischievous smile and then bolts across the chapel.  Luckily I'm too slow to chase him, so I don't have to be the one trying to reverently run after him.  Thanks Keith!  :)

Hats : Lounging

This little guy LOVES hats!  This particular hat has been a favorite lately.
Speaking of Grant and his hats, he has quite a few of them and he loves them all.  He has one in particular that is so small on him now that it was making really bad hat marks on his head, so we had to hide it.  I am now looking for a worthy replacement.

We've been having more days of lounging around and watching movies.  Life is great when Keith is here on the weekends and he helps out a lot.  Then it goes back to being a little hum drum.  It seems like every time I make a meal, or get ready for the day, or do anything but take it easy, I get those lovely Braxton Hicks contractions really bad!  And they are getting worse.  I don't remember anything like this from being pregnant with Grant.  I know I'm not in any sort of real labor (yet),  but they hurt enough to make me wonder if I should call my doctor.  But what can he do besides tell me to take it easy?  So I do.  Because this baby still needs to cook for a few more weeks.  And hopefully I can make it around Hobby Lobby tonight with my mom, because I have some things to finish up in my boy's rooms.  And I really want to check out their fall decor.  :)

Cousins

Cute cousins together after family dinner on Sunday.
This is all of the kids on my side of the family, minus my new little niece and 2 more babies to come this year.
It's amazing how the numbers will have almost doubled just this year!

Spending time with Grant

Went swimming as a family for a little bit today.  I barely fit in my swim suit.  :)  Grant had so much fun.  He was kicking his feet really good and couldn't get enough of jumping in from the side of the pool.
We've been so busy lately getting things ready for our baby's arrival that we felt like we weren't spending enough time doing fun things with Grant.  So he had quite the day today.  Keith took him to the driving range this morning (I got to sleep in!!!), they went to Ikea and Target, we went swimming, they also went grocery shopping together for me, and he spent every other minute by Keith's side.  He loves his daddy so much.  But don't you worry, when it comes to bed time he loves his mommy the most.  :)  It's the one time in the day that he slows down and cuddles with me.  It's great, and I look forward to it every night.  I hope I'll still have the energy and time for that after the baby is born.
