Happy Weekend

The weekend is here!  I plan to finish painting my bedroom and bathroom.  Then almost all of the ugly orange paint in our house will be gone!  Yay!
I'm hoping Camille will take a great nap tomorrow.
The boys will probably spend a lot of time playing in the pool and eating watermelon.
Oh, to be a kid again!

Father's Day 2015

We had a yummy Father's Day breakfast with Keith's parents, grandpa, and aunt.

I made this french toast bake for the 2nd time ever and it did not disappoint.

We gave Keith some fun gifts and cards.

After church we had my family over for BBQ pork sandwiches and my mom's delicious pineapple upside-down cake.
So grateful for all of the father's in our lives, and glad we had a day to celebrate them more than usual.

Homemade Tomato Soup on a Sunday night

Last week we picked a basket full of ripe tomatoes from our garden.
What to do with all of those tomatoes?  My cousin's wife suggested soup.  So I looked up a recipe and gave it a try.  It turned out awesome!  You can find the recipe here.
What an easy way to use up a basket of fresh tomatoes!
My brother's family is out of town this week so we had him over last night for this delicious soup with toasted cheese sandwiches.

After dinner we went to see the progress of the house that he's building.
He's put so much hard work and time into this house.  It's beautiful!

The boys got to sit on the tractor in the back yard.  They loved it!

Then we all went to visit my parents and had chocolate zucchini cake and ice-cream!
It was a lovely way to spend a Sunday evening.
When we got home I read to the boys from our current Boxcar Children book and then I fell asleep on their floor!

My Birthday

I celebrated my birthday on Tuesday.  Keith was so sweet to decorate the house.  He even got that cute Olaf piƱata you can see hanging in the kitchen. :)

I started out with a Swedish Pancake breakfast that Keith got me from IHOP.  Yum!
Then I took the kids over to Keith's parents house to stay while I went out to lunch with my BFF, Shari.  We went to Joe's Farm Grill for my free birthday meal.  Then we went to get a free birthday gelato at Frost (love that place!).  Then that turned into doing a little shopping.  It was some much needed relaxing girl time.  :)  I'm so glad my kids were all happy at grandma's house (thank you Marsha!) so I could go have a fun day.  After that I went to Keith's parents house and got caught up on the "When Calls The Heart" episodes.  Ahhhh...I love that show!  It's so cheesy, and yet so wonderful.
Keith took charge of dinner that night and invited my parents and my brother's family over to join us.
Twinners!

This was taken just a moment before I decapitated poor little Olaf.  It was so funny!
Keith did a great job putting together dinner (pizza, broccoli salad, and watermelon) and he got my favorite Tuxedo Cheesecake for dessert.  I just had to sit back and enjoy.  It was so nice to have such a fun day and I felt super loved by everyone.

Summer Days

The boys have been having fun in their pool.

 Chocolate Chip Cookies!
Keith's sister was in town and she cut our kids hair one day.
Camille showed up all ready for her first haircut.
We only took a little bit off the back to even things up. :)
She sat super still the whole time.  It was great.  Thanks Aunt Kristy!
We've been eating lots of watermelon.
Also, Brett got his head buzzed and it feels like velvet!  I can't stop myself from running my hand across his cute head whenever I'm near him!  :)
We had Keith's parents and grandpa over for salmon dinner last night.  We hung out in the backyard after dinner and enjoyed the cool grass.
These giant bugs have been on our tomatoes.  They look really creepy to me, and they fly.  Eeew!
 Strawberry shortcake for dessert.  Yum!

Seven

Grant lost tooth number 7 today as he was eating a frozen Go-gurt.
One of the first things he asked me was, "Now how am I going to eat?"
Poor kid, his two front teeth have yet to come in and he's been eating on the sides of his mouth for a while now.
Ha!  I love his cute gummy smile!
