This cute kid made my day. Just this morning, he FINALLY said Mom! Well it was really Ma and Mama. I couldn't believe my ears at first, but then he kept saying it. I feel SO loved! He's not one for many words yet. As he was laying in his crib for bed tonight he and I were going through the words he's recently picked up. Da (Dad), Ma and Mama, Papa, No, Trash, Ball, and Bubble. I'm so proud of him!

Happy trails to you
The mountains were calling Keith's name. So we headed east. I wasn't sure how long I would last on the trail, but I loved it! What a beautiful day. Occasionally we could hear the whistle of a train from the nearby ghost town. Grant would get all excited, we'd listen, and then he'd make his train whistle sound too. So cute!
Grant loved hiking, but I think he loved collecting a few rocks at the end even more than he enjoyed the hike. He held them in his hands on the way home until he fell asleep (which didn't take long). We did a whole trail and made it home just in time to all take a long, much needed, nap.

| Happy trails to you! |

Finishing it off with a splash
It's the best when Keith comes with us to the pool.
Grant had so much fun playing with his dad on the beach.
Hope you had a great Spring Break too!
Thank you Grandma Jackson for so much swimming fun last week! We loved every minute of it!

Today
It's been raining on and off today. We've watched the polar express two times already this morning and we made these yummy (and healthy) oatmeal cookies. Oh, it smells like Christmas in my house! Now Grant is taking a nap and I might go do the same.

Spring Training
Went to a Diamond Backs spring training game with Keith's family. This is the way to do it. We had seats on the grass and the kids could play. It was a lot of fun and the weather, of course, was wonderful! Grant is in love with baseball, so he really liked getting to go to his first game.
Have a great weekend!

Tricks
I think he's got this one mastered.
Now we just need to get him to blow bubbles in the pool instead of licking up the water like a dog. Yucky!

Spring Break
| (Grant, living it up in his highchair with his sucker. He kept his sunglasses on during swimming and all through lunch.) |
We couldn't have asked for better weather for spring break! Thanks to Grandma Jackson, we actually went swimming today! The water was heated, but still. It was so nice out. More plans for swimming tomorrow and Friday. As I smelled the sunscreen this morning I got all giddy inside. I love summer. Maybe I don't love the super way too hot Arizona temps in the summer, but I love the sunscreen, the swimming, watermelon, BBQ, popsicles, etc.
Tomorrow is St. Patrick's day. I'll admit that I don't really know what it's for, but I do like to wear green and eat corned beef and cabbage. So that's what's on the menu tomorrow night. Have you ever had it?

The End of A Month of Love
I really thought I could keep up with this month of posts, but the month really got away from me. Here's to finish up the month. We'll have to skip the pics this time too.
Day 26: My mom's parents. I wish I had a picture of them. I can't believe I don't. I really need to get copies of family pictures from my parents house. My Grandpa was hilarious. He'd always have gum. Always. And if we'd like a piece of gum too, we had to ask, "Can I have some gum Chum?" It cracked us up. He would also stand next to the piano when I'd play and he'd do a little dance to the music. He passed away when I was 12. I'm so glad I was old enough to know him. My Grandma was a classy lady. She was such a good dresser. She grew up on a farm and couldn't wait to move to the big city. She always made the BEST food. She passed away about 6 months after Keith and I were married. I can tell that my Grandma & Grandpa were an adorable couple. They loved to entertain and go to parties. There's lots of pictures of them dressed up for different parties. And they loved their girls. They got married a little later than most, and couldn't have kids for many years. They did eventually have two girls though, and gave them all the attention and love anyone could ask for.
Day 27: The picture that Keith and I got for our anniversary. We'd really been wanting to get a large painting of Christ for our home for a long time now. We didn't ever really agree on one though, until we saw this painting. We each saw it on separate trips to Deseret Book. When we realized that we both liked the same painting we were really excited and decided to get it for our 5th Anniversary. We went to get it and the frame was totally damaged. Bummer! There weren't any others in Arizona. Then as we were driving to go get some dinner we remembered Seagull Book. Totally forgot about that store. They had it and it was in perfect shape and it was on sale! Hooray!
Day 28: And FINALLY the last day..... We're expecting a baby the first week of October! Holy cow! I'm so excited, but so terrified of having a newborn in the home again. So that's the real reason I've been behind on things. I've had a lot of rough days these past couple weeks with not feeling too great. Tonight I feel okay though, and so I took advantage of it and cleaned my whole house. After all, it might not happen again for a while. I love this new little person whom I can't wait to meet!
