Happy Weekend

Last Saturday we spent driving in our van all the way home from Colorado.  The day went by surprisingly fast!  It helped that we left at 4:30 in the morning!  That is hard to do, I tell you, but so worth it by the end of the trip.  There's something about driving into the night that gets kids (and parents) crabby and restless.  So when we can, we like to leave early.

I have plenty to share from our wonderful two week vacation, but until then, here's a bit of what we've been doing in-between laundry, thoroughly washing carseats, and Tyler's naps.

Grant has swim team practice each morning.

The other kids and I head to the pool during Grant's practice.  It's been a great way to start the day together and get some fresh outside air before the heat really turns on.

Monkey Bread for lunch one day with a green smoothie and hard boiled eggs!  This recipe was a hit!

We picked up this puzzle at Hobby Lobby the other day.  The kids have had a great time putting it together.  Plus, it has the cutest pictures on it representing each state.

Brett's bear "Patches" shows up in my kitchen quite often to enjoy a jar of honey.  Ha!  Brett is so cute with this little bear right now.  He even threw it a birthday party a couple weeks ago!

 More swim practice.

Last, but not least, marking their picks for a second donut.  :)

Happy Weekend!

Happy Weekend

We've had a busy non-stop fun week with my sister's family visiting.  Lot's of late nights, early mornings, not enough sleep, and cousins, cousins, cousins!
When my sister, Amber, was visiting in March, I made the first of these saguaro dolls for our girls.  I wanted my little visiting nieces to go home with a cute memento of their time in the desert.  This afternoon I presented my sister, Ann's, two girls with a saguaro doll of their own.  They were a hit!  And then my sister and her husband took their little family away to visit some of his family in another part of AZ.

I love it when my sisters get to come visit!  I don't get to see them often enough.  I look forward to seeing them both again this summer when I go up to their homes.  Yippee!
Happy Weekend!  We will be getting ready for cub scout camp and catching up on things that got neglected this week while we played.  :)
