loot

The basket and the trailer were from Keith for my birthday.
I was so hoping I would get the trailer. I found it at Costco and kept telling him all about it. I love that the trailer can also be a jogging stroller and that it can hold one or two kids.
Now I just need to get up early enough to use it before it's an oven outside!

sew we made a bag

My niece, Raya, came for a sleepover. So my mind got thinking of something fun we could do together. I loved to come up with different sewing projects when I was younger (I still do), so I thought that's what we'd do. I had my mom come over too. Raya picked out the fabric from my box of scraps, my mom taught her how to use the sewing machine, and we helped her create this cute bag.

Camp Banners

This is the camp banner that I made last year for our ward's Young Women.
And below is this year's banner. This time I had some of the Young Women draw the design onto the sheet with pencil (while the image was projected onto the sheet), and another Y.W. and I painted it. It was more involved than last year's banner. I love all the bright colors.

Happy Birthday to me

29...weird! How did I get to this age so fast?
If I were to have a party, this would be the perfect setting.
I love the colors, and the tags, and the flags, and the dishes, and the pretty ribbon candy!

Highlights

This Memorial Day Weekend:

Grant has been obsessed with playing with water bottles.

We went to the zoo. It wasn't too bad with the heat. We got Grant wet at the splash pad and then we were fine.

Had a fun swim party with the Young Women in our ward.

Planned a special event with my sister. (More to come.)

Had a family dinner with Auntie Ann.

Keith gave me a whole bunch of roses for no reason. Love it!
He told me that he likes to surprise me with flowers. I said that I was glad, and that he can surprise me any time he wants to.

Got yummy gelato after the zoo. We ate it in the car while Grant slept.

Ate dinner & went swimming at the pool with Keith's parents.

Enjoyed Keith's last few days of freedom before he started another class today. Oh, it was so nice to have him home. I got used to it. And now it will be hard to have him back in the business of class, homework, reading, and projects.

Then tonight I got to see this cute little guy when we brought home made chicken pot pies over for his parents.
