4th of July 2015

We enjoyed the 4th of July with a bunch of Keith's family at his parent's cabin.
It's fun to see these cute cousins (a month apart) growing up and acknowledging each other more.
 Keith with the kids.
This is the age that Brett will look back on one day and wonder why he was such a pill every time we tried to take a group picture.  :)
 Snuggles with Daddy.
It was fun to have older girl cousins there to give a helping hand, especially since our Camille is SO BUSY!
Our family went for a little drive to a favorite hiking spot nearby.  The boys all took a nap for a while when we got there.
I chilled out in the car, wishing I'd brought my book.  :)
Camille roamed the car and had fun at the steering wheel...
...just like last year when we were at the same spot waiting out the rain.
She has grown up so much!
We like to throw rocks here.
This one went really far!  :)
I spy a cute baby in the woods!

Of all the random places in the world, we ran into some friends at the end of the lake.
They were just sitting there in a kayak.
Which is pretty cool because then we got a cute pic of them that we could email that they would have never had otherwise.
Now he's turning on the smiles.
The forest was SO GREEN!  And it was raining just a little bit during our hike.
Doesn't it look like Grant's in front of a fake background?

We just couldn't get these kids to all look at the same time, but they sure are cute.
 "Cheese!"
Here's the best we could do for a family pic.  We set the camera on a rock!  Ha!
Miss cutie-pants blew out her diaper in the car.  Now it looks like she's just in an all white romper!
"Yay!"
Her latest trick is saying, "La-la-la-la-la!"

 Back at the cabin.
It rained a ton in the afternoon so we all hung out inside.
The fireworks got cancelled that night too.
A view from the back of the cabin.
The kids covered their fort in pine needles.
On Sunday we went on an hour drive into the forest to see Keith's sister's new place and go to her ward for church.  Our nephew was giving a talk in primary that day.  He was so thrilled to have 14 extra people in the back of the primary room watching him.  :)
With all those pine trees everywhere, and the rain, it almost felt like Christmas there!

Camille was so tired after our little adventure.
And so was Brett.

We had a super fun time and came back home on Sunday night to sleep in our own beds!

June Things

June brought new paint for the bathrooms.  Good-bye orange!  I laughed at what was likely the original paint job underneath the vent covers.  Sponge-painting anyone?!  Bleh!  I totally remember when that was the cool thing to do.  Everyone thought it would make their walls look like marble or something...but it didn't work!  :)
My mom embroidered this beautiful hand towel for me for my birthday.
Keith picked out these beautiful roses for my birthday.
I woke up early one Saturday morning to drop off my parents at the river so they'd have their car at the bottom when they got done kayaking.  It was such a beautiful morning and lots of cyclist and kayakers were out enjoying the cooler morning weather.  I really didn't want to drive back home, but there was work to do that day.

I set the table for our Father's day breakfast the night before.
The light coming through the windows in the morning made it look extra pretty!
Lots of red cheeks around here as we brave this hot summer.
We had my aunt and cousin and her boys over one evening while my cousin was in town.
My mom's sister, me, and my cousin.  :)
Brett loves riding his bike now.
Having friends over made for a fun day.  I let them each make their own pizza for lunch.
She's starting to try on our big shoes.  :)
Movie night while daddy was out of town.
 Brett doing yoga with Daddy.
I've been finding Camille sitting with books lately.  I love it!
This time she was laying on our mattress that was in her room while I was painting last week.
She thought that mattress was pretty awesome and had fun doing somersaults on it too.
I made this delicious Roasted Cauliflower Soup.
 How's this for character?
The boys played with the costumes one day.  We were excited to see that Camille still fits in her Halloween costume from last year, and she looks quite adorable in it!  :)
At the beach pool with cousins.
The boys and I have summer movie passes this year.
Playing at the mall after the movie.
We watched the beginning of the Box Trolls movie and then left because we thought it was really creepy.
(Have you seen it?  It's creepy, right?!)
The boys still thought the box trolls were pretty cool and wanted to be box trolls when we got home.  These "box boys" are pretty cute!
I went searching for drapery fabric one day and laughed out loud when I saw this fabric.  I just had to take a picture.  Ha!  Really?  How would this be used?!
One of many morning visits to the pool.
The boys built this sand alien.
 Smiley Brett.
And last, but not least, we went with Keith's family to a Diamondbacks game last night.  We had a lot of fun there and the kids slept really good!
