Annie

Young Women's camp is at the end of this week. I'm not going, but I got to make the banner for our ward. I love doing things like this! I googled the image, then projected it onto a sheet where I traced it with a pencil. Then I filled it in with paint and put grommets around the edges so they can hang it up at camp. So fun!

California Dream'n

Keith had a conference for work in San Diego last week so Grant and I came along for the ride along with his co-worker's wife and 3 year old boy. We had fun going to Sea World for two days, taking a quick drive over to Coronado Island and Seaport Village, and having our husbands meet us at Sea World one of the nights.

I put Grant in the sand at Coronado Island. He seemed to really like it. Before we left San Diego we enjoyed the morning at the beach and then stopped by for a quick look at the temple. We were bummed to have to come back home to the hot dessert.

Trip to Utah

Grant traveled pretty well considering that we did the trip up to Salt Lake City in one day. He was always so happy when we'd stop and he'd get a break from his car seat.
Everything was going great until he gagged and threw up all over him and me (really,I was soaked!) at Dairy Queen. That was a first for us. I just wanted to disappear at that moment. Welcome to parenthood!Keith's aunt got married in the Draper temple on Saturday. What a beautiful temple! The sealing room was huge. It's occupancy is 70! It was so nice to have a chair for everyone and room to spare. We enjoyed the sealing and then had a nice lunch at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Notice the candy bar. All five of the mom's with the babies that had been born into the family recently were all there. It was fun to have all the babies together.
Our nephew, Ryan, was blessed on Sunday while we were there. He's so sweet. It was his first time to church since he was born 5 months ago. Grant had fun playing with him even though Ryan accidentally punched him in the jaw (note the picture on the top right). It was pretty funny, Grant's not used to being picked on. Grant also had his first babysitter that wasn't a family member. That was a big step for me.

We broke the trip home up a little. We stayed the night at Bryce Canyon and did a small hike there the next day. Grant loved all the fresh air.

We were having such a fun time, so we decided to stay an extra day and go to Zion's National Park also. There were so many squirrels (or chipmunks?)! They were everywhere, even climbing on cars. It was a pretty hot day so we only did part of an easy hike. Grant pretty much slept the whole time. That was nice.

Something I came across

I'm not sure how to add a You Tube video to my blog, so here's the link. Enjoy! I stumbled across this and thought it was hilarious!
