These days

This month has just flown by so fast!  I feel like I keep trying to play catch up.  I'm convinced that the world is spinning faster!  :)
So here's some of what we've been up to.
Brett has started to love to play with trains too.  He makes the cutest "toot-toot" sound you'll ever hear.

Brett likes his green smoothie.
And he likes to lounge around every now and then.
Keith had a fun birthday.  He got home from work early.  We made him a german chocolate cake.
We got a slip'n slide.  It's a hit!
We have a toy room now!  More pics of that to come.  Our rug is coming this week and we have a few more things to do to get the room finished.  But let me just say...it's magical.  All the toys have a home. And when I don't want to see them, I just close the door!  Amazing!  And the boys love it too!
Keith's work had a party at Castle's N Coasters one Saturday morning.
Fun on the bumper cars.
And fun on the little spinning boats.
Keith was brave and did the giant zip-line.
Cutie-pie Brett.
Keith's been moving rock.  Lots and lots of rock.  The previous owners must have LOVED rock!  I wish it would just disappear, as does Keith.  :)
We took a walk around the Mesa Temple grounds.  Grant picked some flowers.
Brett with the statue of Christ.
Grant took this picture of the statue.  I think it turned out pretty cool.  He loves taking pictures with my camera.
Cooling off inside the visitor's center at the temple.
Dinner outside is always nice.  Especially after swimming.
Silly boy.

Happy Birthday My Mr. Jackson!

Thirty-three years ago my wonderful mother-in-law gave birth to her biggest baby.  This morning we celebrated with decorations, presents, and oatmeal.  Oatmeal...who requests oatmeal for their birthday breakfast?!  Apparently my husband does.

The Birthday Boy

Opening presents
Grant & Brett loved playing with the balloons.  Grant really is smiling here, but it kind of looks like he's in pain... but he's not.

We're so glad to have a great dad who takes time to teach us how to shoot a basketball...

...takes us on boat rides...

teaches us how to use a tennis racket...
 ...and makes us smile!

He sure makes me smile.  Happy Birthday to my Keith...the man who encourages me to be my best and makes life great every day!

It blew and blew and blew

It blew a nice cool breeze all day long today.  I opened up the windows and let the sweet smelling wind come through the house.  Grant and I snuggled on the couch and fell asleep listening to the trees blowing around fiercely in our back yard.  And then it rained tonight.  Oh how I love these nice cool spells that come before the heat settles in for the next six months!

And over the weekend I painted this wall in the family room.  So glad to be making some progress with our projects around here.

Trip to the Zoo

Lately I've been feeling more confident about taking both Grant & Brett out by myself.  We now go swimming, to the library, grocery shopping, and to the zoo with just the three of us.  Grant is doing better at staying with me, and as long as I have Brett in the stroller we can keep things in control.
Today we went to the zoo.  There were about a million little kids there on field trips, who we were continually trying to dodge, but otherwise it was so fun.  It was a good work out for me pushing that stroller up a bunch of hills!  We were booking it from one end of the zoo to the other to catch a little zoo show on time.  We made it, and I was covered in sweat.  It's definitely getting warmer here!
A pit stop to play in the Little People Farm was a welcome treat for these boys.
And a stop at the splash pad on the way out was a welcome treat for us all!  I promise Brett smiles.  I feel like I always post pictures of his serious looks, but he is sort of a mellow fellow...
