Last Day of School

It's so nice to have Grant home all day now.  I'm sure I'll be ready to send him back by the end of the summer, but for now we are enjoying not having to get up and go every morning.  His preschool class had a little celebration that parents were invited to attend on the last day.  His class sang the cutest songs.  I video taped it...or so I thought.  When I went to watch it later, I realized that I'd been recording at the wrong times and only got the applause between all of the songs.  I'm still heart broken over it.  But what can I do?  Better luck next time, huh?

Cousins gone home

My sister and her family left yesterday morning after a fun week here.  Now the boys and I are nursing colds.

P.S. I love that my neighborhood Boy Scouts put up flags in the neighborhood for holidays for a fundraiser.  It's so nice to see our country's beautiful flag lining the streets.

Happy Friday!

I'm so glad the weekend is here!  We are having a garage sale in the morning, and then my sister and her family are coming for a whole week!  We have been going through our house and getting rid of the stuff that we haven't used or don't have a need for anymore.  Where does this stuff come from?!  It will be nice to send it on it's way to another home.  Hopefully someone else needs it.  I think the craziest part has been my closet.  I went through my clothes when we moved, but I was able to get rid of a whole lot more again this week.  Clothes are crazy that way.  Sometimes they just end up not fitting like they did in the fitting room, or they make you feel awkward when you really go out and wear them, or they never fit the same after having kids!

Another thing I went through was the one bin I have of my memory stuff.  Every time I go through that thing I throw more out.  I'm down to my year books, a shoe box of pictures, and a couple other things.

It feels so good to not be storing things that are just taking up needed space in our home.  I'm so glad to have a husband who is always on board with getting rid of clutter and getting our home more organized.  It's a beautiful thing!

Summer is around the corner (Well, it's kind of here already)!  Hope you have a productive weekend too!

Shade and hair

I'm thankful for the shade on my back patio so that when I don't want the mess of lunch in my kitchen, I can put the boys outside to eat.

Also, look at how blonde this boy is getting!  I guess all of the early season swimming we've been doing is doing it's work on his hair.

Father & Son Campout

Keith and Grant had fun going on our ward's Father & Son's campout this past weekend.  Brett stayed home with me.  My Dad was helping cook at his ward's campout, so my Mom came over for dinner and a movie, and a sleepover!  We watched Les Mis.  I hadn't seen the movie yet.  It was very powerful.  Then we went swimming the next morning.  

The boys came home from camping just after lunch time.  They were sooooo dirty, and so was everything else!  They really had a fun time in the mountains.  They explored a cave and got to ride on a quad (Grant called it a Monster Truck).  Next year Brett will be with them.

Bubbles at school

Grant's preschool class was having a bubble activity, and I got to go with him!  It was so fun to see him with all of the other kids.  Next week will be his last day of school before summer vacation.  I'm looking forward to it!  No more hurrying him out the door in the mornings.  He'll be going to the same school next year.  I'm curious to find out if he'll be in the morning or afternoon preschool class.  There really are pros and cons to both.  We'll see!

Grant is bringing the snack for school tomorrow.  He also gets to bring something for show & tell.  He's so excited!  We'll go to the store later today to pick out the perfect snack.  What do your kids like to take to school for a snack?
