Grant's Pics

My little Grant loves to take pictures with my camera.  He also loves to try out my different lenses and play with the features they offer.  These were from a little "photo shoot" he went on a couple days ago.  I love the things he takes pictures of.  Lots of times he mimics what I do, but sometimes he captures things that I wouldn't have thought of.

Our Camille

This little gal of ours is getting bigger and oh so fun.  She weighed in at 12 pounds 2 ounces at her checkup last week.  She'll be 10 weeks this Friday.  She goes down at 6:30 PM and wakes up between 4 and 5 AM and then goes back to sleep for another 3 or 4 hours.  She cooing and smiling and notices everything going on around her.  She's a spitter, but not as bad as Brett was so I feel like I can handle it.  Oh, Brett.  He couldn't keep anything down when he was a baby, but amazingly he still grew like a weed.  Grant & Brett love their baby sister and have been really good around her.  Here's some more of what she's been up to lately.

Dance moves after church.
 Smiling.
Playing with toys on the floor.
Couldn't get her to smile here, but had to take a picture with her sweet lamb and blanket she received from Keith's Great Aunt (who's name is Camille's middle name).  So nice of her to send such a beautiful gift.
 Exhausted from playing.
Cuteness after church.  Loving the gold toed shoes.  And the cute headband from my cousins wife.  This dress is the first thing I bought for her after we found out we were expecting a girl.  Keith was surprised that it wasn't pink, but with 2 boys I guess I was used to buying blues.  :)
Sitting happily close by while mommy's sewing more burp cloths (remember the spit?)

Camille's Baby Blessing

Our little Camille was blessed at church this past Sunday.  It was a lovely blessing and a lovely day.  We couldn't have asked for better weather.  We enjoyed spending the rest of the day with lots of family.  We went to our home after church and had a yummy ham lunch.  It was like eating an Easter dinner.  So good!

Camille was quiet and peaceful during her blessing and during the rest of Sacrament Meeting.  She's such a sweet girl.  Oh, how we love her!

I love this picture of my cousin, Kristin, holding Camille.  We both wore polka-dot dresses that day.  And Camille's blanket has polka-dots.  Lots of polka-dots going on.  :)

Camille's lucky to have Great Grandparent's around.  Here she is with my Grandpa.  My grandparents came from Colorado.  I love that they are almost 90 and still taking road trips to see their family throughout the country.  Luckily most of us are here in the west.

After lunch Grant put on a little puppet show for us.

He was so excited!

Since my grandparents were here, my family all stayed around.  I whipped up a super easy and delicious chicken chili for a light dinner for us all.  We enjoyed talking and playing together until late in the evening.  I just LOVE days like this.  And I love that Keith worked so hard to make our back yard a wonderful place to enjoy gathering.

T-ball

Grant started T-ball practice last week.  He rocked!  I think he's in for a great season.  Keith is his coach, which is so great because we get to have practices right down the street from our house.  That just can't be beat!  I brought along my new lens (from Christmas) and I loved being able to get close-ups without being close up.  :)

He hit it over everyone's heads.  They were all in awe.  Little do they know that he's been doing that since he could walk.  Seriously.
Keith loves to coach.  And I love that he loves to coach.  And Grant loves it too.
Grant had a good group of cheerleaders watching him.  Here's a set of Great Grandparents and a Great Aunt.
He also had a Grandma who's great (Keith's mom), who took a few priceless pictures for us.  Brett REALLY wanted to be out on the field, but he did good at staying with us.  Look at those eyes!  What a charmer.

Camille caught up on her beauty sleep.  What a cutie-pie she is!  We love her.

Grant's Birthday

Grant woke up to a Happy Birthday banner on his bed.  He was so excited.  He appreciates the little details.  He loved all of the birthday decor we put up and the "Happy Birthday" and "5" that we drew (with a chalk marker) on the windows and mirrors in the house.
Brett wanted me to take a picture of his bed too.  :)
Grandma & Grandpa Jackson came over that night and gifted Grant with a Captain Moroni (Grant is loving Captain Moroni right now) and two swords (just like Capt. Moroni's).  He was thrilled.
It was getting late and Keith and I were tired.  We really just wanted to put the boys to bed, but we told Grant that we would roast marshmallows and have a campout in the back yard.  So we did.  They thought it was so much fun.  I sang the boys to sleep in the tent and then Keith put them in their beds in the house.

A couple days later Grant had a birthday party with some friends and one of his favorite cousins that's his age.  We played some fun games in the backyard.  Keith made them all airplanes and they flew them around for a while.
We played with the parachute.  We also had a ball throwing contest and a relay race.  And of course the kids loved just running around doing their own thing for a while.
We barbecued hot dogs and had a yummy chocolate baseball cake.  Thank you Costco!  I was going to make Grant a cake shaped like a number five and then the day before I got smart and had Keith buy a cake.  I'm so glad we did that.  It was such an easy and fun birthday party.
Camille was such a sweet heart and napped in her swing for most of the party.

I love to see the temple

We recently took our little family to the Gilbert Temple open house.  It was so beautiful!  I loved being able to take my kids there.  It will be dedicated this Sunday.  I look forward to going there again soon with Keith.
We found a nice shaded spot to sit after we toured the temple.  We fed Camille while we waited in line and then she slept the rest of the time.  What a gal!

Someday we'll go back and get a nice picture when the sun isn't blasting in our eyes.  Until then, this will do.
The boys were excited to see Angel Moroni.  They pretended to be blowing a horn just like him.
We found another little shaded area to take shots of our boys.  Grant is so goofy when he gets his picture taken lately.  I love the liveliness he adds to his photos.
I told Brett that if he let me take his picture I'd get him a strawberry shake.  So he did.  And then we went to In N Out and we all got a cheeseburger and shake.  Isn't he a heart-breaker?
