Lots of pictures here of our trip to Colorado & New Mexico in October (2013). Thought I'd better get them on here before our baby girl comes. :)
Here's a nice afternoon we enjoyed playing out front before our trip.
We stopped to take our traditional picture at the giant ice cream cone in front of Dairy Queen in Raton, NM. This was Brett's first time to see it. Other ice cream cone pics here and here.
We arrived to my grandparents house in Colorado just in time for the changing of the fall leaves. Their neighbor across the street had the most amazing golden tree that had a perfect blanket of freshly fallen leaves. We got permission to rake them and play in them. The boys had so much fun, along with their cousin Ellie who was visiting also.
Keith took Grant golfing one day.
More leaves.
Keith helped with some things around the yard.
My sister, Amber, and I with our baby tummies. She had her baby girl a few weeks after this. My tummy looks just like hers now. We had fun going to thrift stores and stocking up on baby girl clothes. I came home with a whole bunch of great baby girl finds from new born size up to 4T. And I got some great things for the boys too. I tell ya, those stores up there are stocked with good stuff!
When we got to their house their front tree looked this this.
The day we left it looked like this. You can see the fall colors moving down the tree. So pretty! And so fun to get a great taste of fall.
On our way back home we stayed in Albuquerque, NM and went to the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. I grew up here and so I was sooooo excited to take my little family to this event. This night was the special shapes balloon glow. They loved it! We got there early and had fun walking around and looking at the different things they had going on.
Our boys got some amazing balloon hats.
Here we are inside a hot air balloon.
Grant still talks about these tall cowboys. He's so intrigued by them!
We were saved when we got one of the last strollers from the little rental place.
Just before the sun went down the balloons started going up.
Keith's favorite.
Boys in a basket. Oh, those boys slept so good that night!
We met the next morning with a yummy breakfast and then went down to where my family used to go to get pumpkins when I was younger.
We each picked the biggest and most unique pumpkins we could find.
And we smelled the green chills, and got a few to bring home.
And then we drove home. Ahhhh, what a trip. I was kind of nervous about the long drives we would face, but the boys were great and it was so much fun.
