Another concert

We went to another concert at the Mesa Arts Center today.  It was Caribbean music.  Lots of drums.  We all enjoyed it, along with all of the snowbirds.  :)
Going to these concerts (all 2 of them) has been so good for Grant.  He loves the music.  He loves seeing the instruments.  When we got home today we pulled out my guitar and he played the piano along with my little guitar song.  He also used the ottoman as a drum and played along with me.  Then he got to strum the guitar.  I hope he keeps his curiosity and love for playing music.
If you haven't been to a show yet and want to go, the last one is next Thursday.  It's going to be good (I hope).  It's going to be the San Tan Swing Band.  Should be a great way to end the concert series.

Life is pretty exciting...

...when a giant box gets delivered to the house.
Diapers.  I love having diapers delivered for free to my door.
And the boxes they come in are quite exciting for a certain little 3 year old.

These days

These days I feel like I spend half my life in the bathroom with Grant.  I think he's just about got the potty thing down.  He is in love with his potty book that I got him.  He wants me to read it every time he goes to do his business.  The little boy in the book is named Henry.  Grant calls him "Hen" which is really cute and makes me smile because my great grandpa's name is Henry and my great grandma would call him "Hen."
This lemon soap in the bathroom is quite nice.  Such a lovely light lemon scent for spring.

I think all this potty business is beginning to bore Brett.

Here's a cute one of him.  Love those big blue eyes.  And his hand must be yummy because he's always sucking on it.

Honk Team

I got these cute shirts for our boys a couple weeks ago.  Grant doesn't know what a HUNK is.  He thinks it says HONK.  When he sees these shirts he says, "Honk Team, beep beep."  So he picked them out for Brett & him to wear the other day because they are "the same" (he's really into things being the same right now).  He walked around the house singing the words "Honk Team" over and over and over.  It was really cute.  A couple days later we went to an amusement park for a family party for Keith's work.  There was a boy there wearing this shirt.  Grant of course noticed that the other boy had the same HONK team shirt.
Go HONK team!

Concert with Mary : Dinner

One of my friends, Mary, from high school is quite the musician.  We went out to her concert at the Mesa Arts Center yesterday.  She puts on a great show.  Grant was so captivated the whole time.  I thought he might want to run around, but his eyes and attention were on the "tar" and Mary not stop.  He was very excited to meet her after the show.  He talked about "the show" and the "tar" for the rest of the day, and then again today.  He just love guitars, or "tars".

The weather was so perfect for an outside concert.  Brett was in love with the music too.
Everyone got a ticket for a raffle after the show.  Grant wouldn't put his ticket down.  He thought it was sooooo cool!

For dinner that night I made some shish-kabobs.  We don't have a BBQ so I put them under the broiler.  Worked great and they tasted great!  I put my chicken in a Teriyaki marinade for a few hours.  I brushed the onions and peppers with garlic butter while they're cooking.  Served it up with coconut rice, steamed beets and a salad.

Interested in going to a show outside at the Mesa Arts Center?  They have one every Thursday at lunch time ('til the end of March).
